Frank Matson
CEO & Founding Partner
A C.U./Boulder Magna Cum Laude graduate, Frank began his career with KUSA Television as a producer/director and then as the General Manager of Gannett Production Services. In 1984, Frank formed Citizen Pictures with his business partner Anne Fox, they are the Executive Producers for the Emmy Award-winning “Giada at Home” series on Food Network. In 2009 and 2010 Frank directed and produced “Race Across The Sky”, the award-winning documentary depicting the LT100 mountain bike race, which played in theaters nationwide.
Anne Fox
President, Partner & EP
As a proud Summa Cum Laude graduate from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Anne wholeheartedly loves her work and above all, television. With a Broadcast Journalism degree, Anne became a producer at NBC. As an Executive Producer, Anne is part of a team that pitches, develops and creates TV shows for networks like Food Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel, and the Discovery Networks. As a Producer and Director, she is most proud of her work on Food Network’s “Giada’s Weekend Getaways” and “Giada at Home” with Giada De Laurentiis. G@H has won three Daytime Emmy Awards, including two for Directing.
Dan Fox
VP | Production
Dan is the creative force behind the look and feel of every Citizen Pictures production, and part of the creative team behind the Emmy Award-winning “Giada at Home." A Director of Photography for over 20 years, Dan works directly with clients, producers and crew to create a unique style for every project and program. Dan also wears multiple hats as an accomplished Producer and Director in the field for Food Network, Discovery, Travel Channel, and Oxygen. Dan has won a National Daytime Emmy Award, as well as several regional Emmy Awards, Film Festival Awards, and an Alfred I. DuPont Columbia University Award for Excellence in Journalism.
Dustin Astrom
VP | Finance
As VP of Finance Dustin heads up the accounting, finance and business affairs activities for the company. He has a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Dustin began his career in retail and business management, but his ability to meld the creative world with the business world guided him to join Citizen in early 2006. He is an avid car enthusiast, golfer, and enjoys the outdoors.
Josh Dirmish
General Manager
Josh has vast experience in network and corporate post-production. Prior to joining Citizen, Josh was Post Production Manager for High Noon Entertainment. His credits include work for Animal Planet, Starz, Discovery Channel and Food Network. Josh manages all staff and equipment for Citizen’s Digital Production Center and Studio, coordinating the internal schedule and ensuring smooth delivery on all projects. Recently he managed the technical crew for the “Race Across the Sky 2010” premiere live event.
Tim McOsker
Executive Producer
Executive Producer/Show Runner at Citizen since 2006. Credits include Cooking Channel’s “FoodCrafters”, Food Network’s “Extreme Cuisine with Jeff Corwin”, and “Simply Delicioso” with Ingrid Hoffman. Prior to this he was Show Runner for Food Network’s “Giada’s Weekend Getaways”, and EP/Show Runner for Food Network's long running series "Unwrapped". Tim has also produced original web content for Scripps Interactive, FoodNetwork.com and CookingChannel.com.
Jim Brisnehan
Head of Design
Jim is a multiple Emmy Award-winning Art Director and Graphic Designer who has been a notable Citizen team member since 1998. Jim brings strong design skills and a classical fine arts background to Citizen Pictures’ national campaigns and broadcast work. He is also responsible for the design and creation of all miniature 3-D models for shoots, as well as physical versions of network and corporate logos. Jim’s animation is currently featured on “Giada at Home” and “Food Crafters”, and he has recently put his creative stamp on all-animation videos for Qwest Small Business.
Nicole Klingensmith
Client Relations Manager
Nicole is a Colorado native that began her career at Citizen Pictures while attending college for marketing at Metropolitan State College of Denver. Nicole makes sure our clients are well taken care of and caffeinated during their visit, as well as managing the day-to-day business around the office. She loves to make the people around her smile, whether it is by her singing silly songs, or just being goofy. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family, painting, and watching Denver Nuggets basketball.
Katie Jewett
Account Manager
Katie spent most of her formative years in Chelmsford, Mass. and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. As a BFA Film graduate, Katie began her career as a Production Assistant in New York and L.A. After moving to Detroit in 2002, she was exposed to the ad agency world (and lots of cars) via post-production project management. Katie’s experience in the field informs her work as Account Manager at Citizen Pictures. She joined the team in 2010 and is passionate about representing Citizen’s talent in the Denver community and beyond.
Chrissy Matson
Marketing Manager
Chrissy has been with the company since October 2005, and is an expert in anticipating the needs of our team and our clients. Her responsibilities include all of the company’s marketing, social marketing and PR including managing the design and implementation of the Citizen and Race Across the Sky websites. She was instrumental in producing the 2009 & 2010 Race Across the Sky documentaries as well as managing the creation of the Blu-ray & DVD. Chrissy moved to Colorado from Florida in 2005, where she graduated from FAU with a degree in Photography and Graphic Design.
AJ Koch
Senior Editor / Director
AJ Koch joined the Citizen Pictures team in 2001 and has earned a reputation as one of the most talented and requested editors in Denver. As Senior Editor, he brings a creative approach to every session and is often involved in Citizen productions as a creative director or on-set director. AJ has won several Emmy and Telly Awards including an Emmy for his editing work on "Chasing Lance" with Lance Armstrong. He has also directed a variety of videos for clients like Colorado Lottery, Dish Network and Xcel Energy, and served as Lead Editor on the feature documentary “Race Across the Sky 2010.”
Phil Swanson
Motion Graphics Artist
Phil is a BFA graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with an emphasis in kinetic imagery. He began his post-production career in Virginia, where he was an Avid Certified Service Representative. Since joining Citizen in 2004, Phil has built his reputation as a Motion Graphics Artist, creating unique animated text treatments and flowing motion graphics for Coke, Discovery HD Theater, Burger King, Colorado Lottery, and Food Network. He is a versatile team member in and out of the suite, contributing his still photography to projects diverse as food beauty shoots, product videos, and the poster artwork for “Race Across the Sky 2010”.
Heidi Brueggeman
Production Accounting Mngr.
Heidi is Production Accounting Manager, starting with the company in 2007. A transplant from Redondo Beach, Heidi has been working in accounting related positions since 1996, starting at 20th Century Fox. Heidi has a Bachelors degree in Finance and a certificate in Global Logistics from Cal State Universities, and most recent, a “Chef Trak” diploma from Culinary School of the Rockies, in Boulder. The in-house foodie, you will find her jumping in on a food shoot whenever possible, or atleast making salad for everyone on Friday.
Jenna Reynolds
Supervising Producer
Jenna is the Supervising Producer of “Giada at Home” and has worked on Citizen’s “Giada’s Weekend Getaways” and “Simply Delicioso”. Jenna began her career in the newsroom. For seven years, she was the nightlife reporter on CBS4's Emmy Award winning entertainment program, "Show" and travel reporter on CBS4's "Colorado Getaways". Jenna has degrees in broadcast journalism and history from the University of S. California and attended fashion school at Parsons in Paris.
Elena McIntosh
Producer
Elena is a producer for Citizen Pictures content. With Citizen since 2007, Elena has worked on programs such as Food Network’s Giada’s Weekend Getaways, Simply Delicioso, Giada at Home, Extreme Cuisine and Cooking Channel’s foodCrafters. In addition to working on new projects, she’s constantly researching trends and assisting with Citizen’s show development. Having the MB personality of ENFJ, Elena is proud of her enduring enthusiasm.
Dogan Barns
Online Editor
DC Barns is a CO native, but abandoned the rectangle to study film at the College of Santa Fe; where he received his BA. Inspired by that city's art scene but not willing to participate in its adobe addiction he traveled to NYC. There he worked for online editing company; Nice Shoes. In '05 he was drawn back and now serves Citizen Pictures as online editor. Outside of work he has completed several short films and enjoys seeking out abstruse artwork.
Andrew Moraski
Assistant Editor
Andrew moved from Florida in 2006 to explore his love for the mountains. Snowboarding and mountain biking is what he enjoys in his off time from work. He graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a bachelors of fine arts with an emphasis in post-production. Andrew loves Colorado and will never part with the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
Laurie Allen
Producer
Laurie has worked in the construction, legal & advertising fields before happily landing in tv production in '98. Since ‘04, she has been freelancing in the Content Department of Citizen on programs like Simply Delicioso, Extreme Cuisine with Jeff Corwin & most recently on FoodCrafters. In addition to working as a researcher, writer & production coordinator, she is the Official Treat Provider for Citizen's 2 top dogs...as well as any other four-legged friend visiting the premises.
Todd Callan
Stage Manager
Todd has been with Citizen Pictures since March 2004. He moved to Colorado 18 years ago from Illinois to be a ski bum but then began working as a freelance production assistant and quickly realized production was his forte. Todd takes care of the stage, equipment, cameras, lights, etc at Citizen and keeps our building looking and operating in ship shape condition. As Stage Manager he is on most Citizen productions as a grip or a camera assistant and manages all equipment. His greatest, most difficult project yet was keeping 12 camera crews organized for Race Across the Sky 2009 & 2010.
Kat Higgins
Series Producer
Kat joined the Citizen Pictures team in 2011 as the Series Producer of Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives", a show she has produced since it's first season in 2007. Kat supervises all DDD research, pre- and field production, programming and scheduling, manages talent and network affairs, and has been the linchpin to the continued success of the hit show. Kat's diverse background ranges from basketball, musical performance, radio hosting, and writing web content, to corporate and non-profit management.
Jeff Warren
Editor
Jeff is a "glass-half-full" kind of guy, best known for wearing flip flops and eating Chipotle on a daily basis. His laid back, yet professional attitude has served him well in the wonderful world of production. He's been blessed to work with a wealth of clients, from the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets to the United Way and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. He landed at Citizen Pictures almost 7 years ago. Since his arrival, he's worked on 7 different series and currently edits the Emmy Award-winning series, "Giada at Home" for the Food Network.
Ryan Moore
Editor
Ryan has surfed the big wave reef break of Jaws off the north shore of Maui. He has base jumped Chamonix, sailed the Chesapeake Bay, Directed one of the longest plays in history and can make some of the best Italian food you could imagine. Well... he may not have done any of those things, but over the past decade, his passion for editing has ushered viewers into these worlds to experience them all. Four years ago, Ryan was lucky enough to join up with Citizen Pictures to help launch the Food Network series, Giada at Home. Three National Emmy's later, our passion remains as strong as our pursuit, and the adventure continues...
Jamie Wallace
Editor
Jamie has been editing for over a decade with an extensive background in documentary and series work. The past three years spent with Citizen Pictures have been devoted to cutting the Emmy Award winning Food Network series "Giada At Home". When away from the edit suite, Jamie can be found playing music, cycling, playing golf and spending time with his family.
